The game starts with a dealer. Cards are dealt face-up, or the dealer can shuffle them. Players are then given a chance to check, call, or raise. After the first round of betting, the flop is dealt.
The flop is the first set of three cards that are placed face-up. A bet is made by a player who matches the previous bet. If a player doesn’t match the bet, he must fold.
The dealer shuffles and cuts the cards after each hand. If the dealer is the first player, he must re-shuffle the cards. This process is called the ante.
